Gary Portelli’s Golden Slipper hope has been forced to undergo a name change to avoid confusion with Queensland-based gelding All The Torque.

I’m All The Talk is a $16 Golden Slipper chance after ensuring his spot in the $3.5 million sprint with a 3 1/2 length win in the Group 3 Skyline Stakes at Warwick Farm earlier this month.

The Stratum colt has won two of five starts for $160,000 in prizemoney and is yet to finish worse than fourth.

Portelli nominated the exciting youngster for Saturday’s Pago Pago Stakes but said yesterday he will have no further lead-up into the Golden Slipper.

I’m All The Talk was a comfortable trial winner at Warwick Farm on Tuesday, leading throughout to clock 46.1 seconds for 800m.

But Portelli is hopeful his charge can adopt a change of tactics on Saturday week, suggesting the instructions will be to attempt to take a sit behind the leaders.

“Not many lead and win, I don’t think it is a good idea to burn across the field and try to run them off their feet,” Portelli told TVN.

The clear Golden Slipper favourite is Gai Waterhouse-trained filly Overreach ($2.05) who is ahead of Todman Stakes winner Criterion ($10) and Victorian filly Villa Verde ($11).
