My True Love will struggle to make the field for Tattersall’s Tiara

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable looks like only having one runner in the Group 1 $500,000 Sky Racing Tattersall’s Tiara (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday after My True Love was rated twenty-fourth in the order of entry.

Last start Dane Ripper Stakes winner and stablemate Prompt Response is number six in the order of entry and is guaranteed a spot in the final field.

The final field for the Group 1 for the fillies and mares will consist of sixteen runners plus five emergencies which leaves My True Love just out of contention if all the ones ahead of her are final acceptors.

“That is unfortunate,” co-trainer Adrian Bott told Sky Racing News.

My True Love handled the step up in class last start very well with a solid second to stablemate Prompt Response in the Group 2 $200,000 Bundaberg Rum Dane Ripper Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on June 10 and Bott said that she has done well since.

“She has come out of that run great order so would love to see her take her spot, but luckily for us there is also a nice little race for in the Guineas in the following week. So all is not lost there,” Bott said.

“It would be great to have two representing the stable in the Group 1. Just as happy to have Prompt Response in there, delighted with how she has been.”

Bott said that if My True Love misses out on getting a start in the Tattersall’s Tiara, she would head to the Sunshine Coast next Saturday for the Group 3 $125,000 XXXX Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m).

Bott reported that both fillies have come through the run in the Dane Ripper Stakes in great order and are ready to step out for their next assignments.

“They are both doing really well up there, as these fillies usually do at this time of year,” Bott said.

“We were able to work then both on the course proper at the Gold Coast track this morning.”

“Tegan Harrison worked both fillies and they are ticking along really well.”

“My True Love good strong work going into Saturday if she get in, if not she will be ready for the following week.”

“Prompt Response she has been up a lot longer so she is just ticking over nicely. She is where she needs to be.”

The Tattersall’s Tiara has always been Prompt Response’s main Winter Carnival goal and Bott said that the plan has worked out well.

“The Tatt’s Tiara was always the long range plan when she went out at the end of the Carnival last time, we planned everything to this particular race,” Bott said.

“That also included a couple of starts early in Sydney, through Scone. Very much a program that we used for Cosmic Endeavour successfully and I think she has responded obviously very well to it.”

“The key was the little freshen up between Scone. She had settled in well and the performance was there for everybody to see in the Dane Ripper.”
