Peter Moody-trained My Quest For Peace will have his runs spaced during the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival in an attempt to buck the trend of the progeny of Galileo performing poorly in Australia.

Galileo has been one of the most successful stallions in Europe since his retirement in 2001, producing thirty-three individual Group 1 winners including equine superstar Frankel, but his success has not transferred to Australia.
Niwot (2012 Sydney Cup) and Linton (2013 Stradbroke Handicap) are the only progeny of Galileo to be successful at Group 1 level in Australia and the son of Sadler’s Well finished the 2012/2013 racing season ranked 62nd on the Australian General Sires List.
OTI Racing co-founder Terry Henderson told Radio Sports National that he is incredibly excited about the spring prospects of My Quest For Peace and said connections will be doing everything possible to manage the five-year-old successfully.
“If you said put your finger on a horse that you think is the most exciting for the spring it is this guy,” Henderson said about My Quest For Peace on RSN.
“The trick to him is managing him as a Galileo, we know the success of that breed in Europe and we know how bad they have been in Australia.
“The only variable that we can see is that in Europe they never back them up less than three or four weeks while here we generally race them two weeks apart.
“We had a good chat to Pete about this and this horse will have his races spaced throughout the spring.”
Henderson revealed that My Quest For Peace is set to resume in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 31, before contesting the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) three weeks later ahead of the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley on October 26.
My Quest For Peace has not been seen at the races since a brief cameo during the 2013 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival, where injury prevented him from contesting the major weight-for-age races and he instead took part in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) and the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m).
The imported stayer was far from disgraced when finishing seventh in the Doomben 10,000 but never got into the race in the Stradbroke Handicap.
