The Caulfield-based Murtajill three-year-old had his maiden start in the $101,500 Magic Millions 3YO Classic (1100m) in Victoria on November 22 with Chris Symons guiding the gelding to a one length win over Boundary.

Now he features in the early entries for the more prestigious and lucrative $820,000 Restricted $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast Racecourse on Saturday January 10, 2015.

Next on the agenda for Murt The Flirt is a trip to Sydney Thursday week, December 18, for a shot at the $100,000 Wyong Magic Millions 3YO Stakes (1200m).

That’s the same race the Gai Waterhouse-trained Sweet Idea won last summer 23 days before her victory over Estonian Princess in this year’s Magic Millions Guineas in the Sunshine State.

Other Ballarat Magic Millions 3YO Classic graduates nominated for the Gold Coast feature next month include the Heath Conners-trained runner-up Boundary and third over the line, fellow filly Guajeo for Mick Price.

This summer Waterhouse will return shooting for back-to-back Magic Millions 3YO Guineas’ wins having nominated for nine hopefuls.

Included in Waterhouse’s contingent are last start Kembla Grange winner Loveitt, Our Catch who won over the Warwick Farm mile on November 29 and Group 1 performed Stratum filly Echo Gal.

Runner-up in the Listed Heritage Stakes (1100m) back in September, Echo Gal was last seen running fifth behind First Seal in the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on October 4 after which she was sent out to freshen-up.

Another big name filly in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas nominations for 2015 is the Tony Gollan-trained daughter of Hussonet Hijack Hussy.

A winner of three of her eight starts to date, Hijack Hussy took out the Listed Lexus Hybrid Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day before her third behind Savoureux in the Listed Mode Stakes (1200m) at Doomben last Saturday.

The Brisbane-based Gollan has a strong hand numbers-wise for the MM Guineas with eight entries.

Others in the mix for him include Breakfast Creek Stakes winner from the winter Fixation and Jet Spur gelding Yeager.

Along with Hijack Hussy, the Mode Stakes also produces Tales Of Fashion for the Magic Millions campaign.

Trevor Bailey’s Tale Of The Cat filly, winner of the Listed Lancaster Stakes (1200m) back in May, ran a first-up second in the feature beaten only a long neck despite having to jump from the outside barrier 13 draw.

Gerald Ryan has five Magic Millions 3YO Guineas nominees for next year including Brazen Moss and Tetsuko who ran third and fourth respectively in their Canterbury assignments from December 3.

Other notable Magic Millions 3YO Guineas hopes include the David Payne-trained Bold Circle, this year’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic third placegetter Ruby Soho and WA Guineas winner Rommel who ran seventh to Moriarty in the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) in Perth last Saturday.

The $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) nominations were also released featuring 127 juveniles led by the Barry Mitchell-trained Wicked Intent.
