After the nominations for Flemington were released yesterday Mosheen stood out as the moral of the day with just nine rivals in the Group 3 Vanity over 1410m.

While she won the Crown Oaks over 2500m in the spring prior to that she’d never been stretched out over a mile and she’s certainly still got the toe for a 1400m contest.

With 57.5kg she’s got 3.5kg more than the rest of the field but nothing comes close in terms of class or proven ability.

Nominations were extended until this morning but only the unheralded Miss Kardashian for Danielle Smith was added to the list, her 58 rating dwarfed by the 105 for Mosheen.

There are some handy types in the field including Angel Of Mercy, Shopaholic and Caline but Mosheen is still head and shoulders above this field.

New part owner Katsumi Yoshida certainly agrees, he’s flying over from Japan to witness the likely domination first hand.

Yoshida bought a half share of Mosheen just last month and the owner of 2006 Melbourne Cup winner Delta Blues is keen on more Australian success.

Co-owner Phil Sly said that Yoshida couldn’t wait to get here.

“He’s as keen as mustard, he wants to be involved,” Sly enthused. “Let’s hope we can celebrate with a win.”

Mosheen won in fine style first up at Caulfield on February four and will pass through the Vanity on her way to the Australian Guineas.

Once there it’s likely she’ll come up against Helmet, one of the only horses that on current form looks like he could be a danger outside of the still absent Atlantic Jewel.
