Punters quickly threw their support behind Morton’s Fork when the 2016 Ladbrokes Sandown Guineas field was released earlier in the week and he has spent much of the lead-up to the race as an odds-on favourite.

Morton’s Fork started his 2016 Spring Racing Carnival campaign with a comfortable victory in the NGS Super Handicap (1300m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 28 and he had no luck when fifth in the Listed Gothic Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on October 15 before he was only narrowly denied by the talented Comin’ Through in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on October 29.

The only other horse that has been supported in 2016 Ladbrokes Sandown Guineas betting markets is Darren Weir-trained Jennifer Lynn, who has been backed from $4 into $3.70.

Jennifer Lynn recorded her maiden race win in the Vickery Brothers Handicap (1400m) at Coleraine on September 25 and she took out the Mypunter.Com Plate (1400m) at Caulfield on October 15 before she stormed home late to win the Listed Lexus Hybrid Plate (1400m) at Flemington on November 1.

The next best-backed runner in the Sandown Guineas betting market with Ladbrokes is Faraway Town.

Faraway Town has not recorded a race win since his second race start in November last year, but he has form around a number of talented horses right throughout his racing career.

The only other horse that is available at single-figure Ladbrokes Sandown Guineas odds is Gordon Richards-trained Benz, who has drifted out to $9.50.

Benz made his Melbourne racing debut with an upset win over Ken’s Dream at Moonee Valley on September 30, but he has been a touch outclassed in his past two starts at Morphettville on October 15 and Flemington on November 5.

The 2015 Ladbrokes Sandown Guineas betting market is rounded out by Ruthven ($11), Soviet Secret ($21), Fomo ($26), Wimborne ($61) and Stornaway ($126).
