Moonee Valley tonight – preview, scratchings and premierships

The eight races set down for Moonee Valley tonight will be a good one to frequent but those not there will get Australia’s best coverage right here.

There is  little to no chance of rain this evening and the temperature is a pleasant 22c.

The track is rated a Good three with 17 scratchings to date.

Moonee Valley’s leading rider for the season, Craig Newitt has five rides.

Perhaps the best is in the first race aboard the Mick Price-trained  Roses In the Glen.

It is fixed price $3.40 favourite on TABsportsbet after its recent odds on win at Mornington.

Newitt’s other rides are much longer odds and his fans can build a bank early and capitalize later on.

Those other rides are Race three-#12 Interaq, Race five #11 Universal Rose, Race six #7 Too Many Reds, Race seven – #10 Zuma Roc.

The leading Moonee Valley trainer Peter Moody is light on for runners but those entered have great chances.

Turnitup, in race six, is second up after a pleasing first-up run at the Sandown-Hillside last start.

TABsportsbet have it $3.20 favourite knowing Moody is aiming for bigger races later on with the gelding.

Moody also has the promising Brambles in race seven, but no great odds here with $1.70 posted on fixed price.

There is more value with Plain Lucky in the last race, though favourite, he is a $5 chance on fixed price.
