Trainer Peter Moody is just five wins off reaching 100 winners for the season

Peter Moody is just five wins off reaching the coveted ton after Lethal Arrow won his first city race at Sandown today.

The trainer has now trained 95.5 city winners during this current racing season that will end at the end of the month.

Lee Freedman and David Hayes are currently the only two trainers to achieve the ton in Victoria.

Lethal Arrow’s jockey, Luke Nolen, was pleased with the horse’s efforts.

“We got away with a few cheap ones and then I allowed him to flow through his gears a bit, although you don’t have many on these soft tracks,” Nolen said.

“He slipped through the dip still travelling then shook him up and he did the rest.

“It was a nice effort. He’s a progressive horse and placed well so hopefully he can continue to win.”

Part owners Simon O’Donnell and Terry Hutchinson retained a share in the horse after breeding his from the unraced Snippets mare In Bad Taste.

“He just keeps getting a little bit better each time,” Mr O’Donnell said.

“We actually bred him, Terry (Henderson) and myself.

“I was a bit of a fan of Snaadee years ago and we had an unraced Snippets mare so we tried to see what come out of it and this fella is here and he’s giving us a great thrill.”

Lethal Arrow has won five of his 13 race starts, with today’s win being his first on a metropolitan track.
