Hi World has been backed into 2015 Memsie Stakes odds of $7 and is a clear market mover in betting for the Group 1 event that will be held at Caulfield on Saturday.

Hi World opened at a quote of $9.50 when the 2015 Memsie Stakes field was released earlier in the week, but there has been consistent support for the four-year-old, which is expected to continue in the lead-up to the race.

The High Chaparral entire started his autumn campaign with a second place finish in the Saintly Handicap (1400m) at Flemington on March 7 and he scored a maiden metropolitan victory at Warwick Farm on March 25 before he stamped himself as a 2015 Spring Racing Carnival contender with two tough wins in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on April 6 and the Group 3 Frank Packer Plate (2000m) at the same venue on April 18.

While Hi World has been the best-backed runner in Memsie Stakes betting markets, Boban remains a clear favourite to take out the Group 1 event and he is now into $4.80 to record his fifth win at the highest level of racing.

Boban has not been seen at the races since he finished a gallant second behind Srikandi in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) at Doomben on June 6, but he has impressed onlookers in two recent barrier trials at Rosehill Gardens on August 4 and August 17.

Volkstok’n’barrell has flown under the radar somewhat ahead of the 2015 Memsie Stakes, but he has been kept safe by bookmakers and he is currently available at Memsie Stakes odds of $7.50.

The Rosehill Guineas winner has not been seen at the races since he finished a gallant third in the Group 1 Australian Derby (2400m) at Royal Randwick on April 6 and trainer Donna Logan admits that the four-year-old will be well short of peak fitness.

The only other horse that is available at single figure Memsie Stakes odds is Darren Weir-trained Stratum Star, who has been backed from $12 into $8.50.

Stratum Star is set to have his first start at Group 1 level since he finished a close third behind Wandjina in the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on March 7 and he has a fitness edge over the majority of his rivals following his fast-finishing seventh in the Listed Regal Roller Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on August 15.

There has been a sprinkling of support for Entirely Platinum ($12 into $10), while Happy Trails ($14 out to $19), Dandino ($51 out to $71), Sertorius ($21 out to $26), Prince Of Penzance ($61 out to $101), Petrology ($16 out to $21) and Rising Romance ($11 out to $13) have all been on the drift.
