Missy Longstocking was given a freshen up after she finished ninth behind Zoustar in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on Victoria Derby Day and will head into the Mode Plate as a clear favourite to record the third victory of her spring campaign.

The Sequalo filly started her preparation with a comfortable win over Sinister Prince and Mr Favulous in the Powerade Handicap (1000m) at Eagle Farm on September 28 and recorded her second win at Group level with a dominant three lengths victory over Anatina and Bulbula in the Group 3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on October 12.

The Mode Plate is run at set weights so Missy Longstocking will carry the same weight as the rest of the field, 56.5kg, despite having a handicap rating that is vastly superior to her eight rivals in the Listed event this weekend.

Enquare has the second highest rating in the Mode Plate field and has been competitive against Missy Longstocking in the past; finishing third behind the three-year-old in the Listed Lancaster Stakes (1200m) and a narrow second in the Listed Hampden Stakes (1200m) earlier this year.

The daughter of Stratum finished her winter campaign with a most impressive win in the Listed Breakfast Creek Hotel Stakes (1400m) and started her spring preparation where she left off with a win in the River Junction Droughtmasters (1110m) at Doomben on October 19.

Another horse taking winning form into the Mode Plate is Splendora who has recorded three straight victories since returning to the races in October.

The Jet Spur filly scored a narrow victory over Shiraz Attack in the Landfill Logistics Maiden (1200m) before taking out the Hillrosee Montefiore & Co Handicap (1200m) at Eagle Farm on November 2 and recording a dominant win in the Chaz Floors & Blinds Handicap (1200m) at the Sunshine Coast (1200m) on November 17.

The only runner not based in Brisbane that will be taking part in the Mode Plate is Bjorn Baker-trained Killcareless who will be making her interstate debut after having her five previous career starts in Sydney.

Killcareless won the Australian Turf Club Handicap (1300m) at Warwick Farm on August 14 and was far from disgraced when finishing fifth behind Thump in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) before returning to the races with a third place finish behind Suit in the Peachtree Hotel Handicap (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on November 16.

Also included in the Mode Plate final field are: Navelina, Global Dream, Vienna Queen, Navelina, Rose In Bloom and High Ace.
