Miss Ready & O’Hara Set To Continue Winning Partnership At Rosehill

Jockey Kathy O’Hara will look to continue her winning partnership with talented mare Miss Ready when they compete at Rosehill Gardens tomorrow.

O’Hara guided Miss Ready to a one length victory in an $85,000 Handicap at the same course earlier this month and will be out to do it all again this weekend.

Missy Ready has drawn barrier 11 for the Lui Cicco Memorial Handicap over 1,400 metres, which is one gate better than last time.

“She came out of 12 and won,” O’Hara said of Miss Ready’s last start win.

“We elected to go forward the other day because of the barrier and I’d say we are probably going to roll forward again and take up a prominent position in the first five.

“That doesn’t worry me because she is the type of horse that has a naturally high cruising speed and can reel off a fast sectional on top of that as well.”

Miss Ready has won four of her 13 race starts in total and has earned more than $80,000 in prize money during her career.

The four-year-old is now trained by Luke Pepper at Moruya, after spending her first five runs with Gai Waterhouse.

Since arriving at Pepper’s stables, Miss Ready has come into her own and will be hard to beat come tomorrow’s race.

“I didn’t think there was any fluke about what she did last start,” O’Hara said.

“Her trainer, Luke Pepper, has always thought she had a lot of ability and I know the mare came from Gai Waterhouse’s stables with a big wrap.

“Luke has had to work his way through some small issues with Miss Ready but he felt he had her spot-on last start and she showed what she could really do.”

Miss Ready was purchased for $180,000 at the 2010 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
