Miracles Of Life Ready For Blue Sapphire

Trainer Daniel Clarken has revealed that he could not be happier with Miracles Of Life ahead of the Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Miracles Of Life finished her juvenile campaign undefeated but has failed to record a win in two starts since returning to the races in August.

The Not A Single Doubt filly finished fourth first-up in the Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield and second behind Thump in the Group 3 Champagne Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley just over a fortnight ago but Clarken believes that she had excuses in both defeats and is ready to return to the winners circle this weekend.

“First up she was a bit fresh and there was a bit of criticism about the way it went about, but her run at Moonee Valley, I couldn’t have been happier with it,” Clarken told Racing Victoria.

“We were never going to lead there, we were always going to sit back and make sure she hit the line and she hit it terrific, so I’m looking forward to Saturday.”

Miracles Of Life worked alongside Paul Beshara-trained Richie’s Vibe this morning and both Clarken and jockey Lauren Stojakovic were delighted with the way that the classy filly performed.

“I know one thing, when Lauren comes back with a big smile on her face you know she’s worked good,” Clarken said.

“I’m very happy with her.

“She had the nice little blow when she pulled up and the work looked very strong.

“She went to the line terrific.”

The Blue Sapphire will be the three-year-olds final hit-out before her major 2013 Spring Racing Carnival goal in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on Victoria Derby Day and Clarken is confident that will have reached peak fitness for the $500,000 race.

“I reckon this one will bring her right to her top and that’ll have her ready for the Coolmore,” Clarken said.

“I think her next two starts you’ll see the real Miracles of Life stand right up.”

The 2012 edition of the Blue Sapphire was won by Snitzerland who went on to finish fifth in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes and sixth in the Group 1 Patinack Farm Classic (1200m).
