Miracles Of Life In First Melbourne Test

She’s the deserving early Blue Diamond Stakes favourite but punters will be able to make a more informed opinion about Adelaide filly Miracles Of Life when she travels east for the Listed Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) for fillies on Saturday.

The Daniel Clarken-trained youngster arrives at Caulfield with some imposing results behind her, having demolished her rivals by margins of 5 1/2 lengths and nine lengths in the first two starts of her career at Morphetville.

Clarken’s early wish was granted yesterday when the daughter of Not A Single Doubt drew mid-field in barrier six as she attempts to extend her unbeaten streak to three.

While some trainers like to play down the ability of their charges, Clarken is happy to embrace the hype created by the emerging galloper.

“The buzz around the place has been fantastic,” Clarken told RSN.

“You go to the track in the morning and people know who she is, the whole hype of the thing has been fantastic.”

While her results have created plenty of attention, the other talking point about Miracles Of Life has been her diminutive size.

Clarken said while there is not much of the exciting chestnut, she generates plenty of power from her small but muscly frame.

“She’s not overly big but she certainly is a ball of muscle,” he said.

Adelaide jockey Lauren Stojakovic rode the talented juvenile in the first two starts of her career and connections will stick with her, resisting the temptation to employ a high profile Melbourne jockey..

“I think it’s great the owners have given the opportunity to stay with the horse and she knows the horse,” Clarken said.

Miracles Of Life is currently a $3 favourite for the Blue Diamond Preview with Darley’s impressive debut winner Montsegur following closely at $3.80.
