Miracles Of Life has to overcome wide barrier in the Galaxy

Pocket dynamo Miracles Of Life will have to overcome a wide barrier if she is to return to the Group 1 winner’s circle in the $400,000 Canadian Club Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

Miracles Of Life was one of the top two year olds in her juvenile year and took out the 2013 Group 1 $1m Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield but her other attempt at Group 1 level resulted in a sixteenth to Smokin’ Joey in the 2014 Group 1 $500,000 The Tapestry Wines Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville.

The baldy faced chestnut mare showed her rivals a clean set of heels when she resumed from a spell with a scintillating win over Va Pensiero and Rubick in the Group 2 $400,000 Hyland Race Colours Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on March 7 and a repeat performance will see her collect the major slice of the prizemoney again.

With plenty of speed around her Hugh Bowman should be able to get a nice trail from an awkward barrier draw before unleashing her powerful finish in the straight.

Miracles Of Life came up with barrier fourteen in the original field of fourteen plus three emergencies but could move in three spots if the reserves don’t gain a start.

Miracles Of Life is prepared by Peter and Paul Snowden at Randwick and they have reported that she has come through her Challenge Stakes win in fine style.

“She is A grade order, she looks really well,” Peter Snowden told Racing HQ.

“She didn’t lighten off at all after the run which was very pleasing because she can drop a bit of weight after each start but she is in excellent order. She is in fine shape at the moment.”

Miracles Of Life is on the second line of betting for the Galaxy at $6 with the third emergency Kuro who could struggle to get a run.

The favourite with Ladbrokes.com.au is Deep Field at $3.90 but the Team Hawkes trained speedster also has to cope with a horror barrier after drawing the outside of the field.

The Northern Meteor stallion has been beaten as favourite at his two runs back this campaign and will have the blinkers on for the first time in the Galaxy after finishing third to Lankan Rupee in the Group 1 $500,000 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) at Flemington on February 21 and second to Target In Sight in the Group 3 $150,000 Smooth FM Maurice McCarten Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill last Saturday.

The unlucky Rubick is next in the betting at $$6.50 ahead of the Gai Waterhouse trained Sweet Idea at $$8.50.
