Miracles Of Life Close To Her Peak For Redelva Stakes

Miracles Of Life has not recorded a race win since her memorable triumph in the 2013 Blue Diamond Stakes, but trainer Daniel Clarken believes the talented filly is close to her best ahead of the 2014 Redelva Stakes at Morphettville this weekend.

Miracles Of Life scored one of the most memorable wins of the 2012/2013 racing season with an impressive performance in the Blue Diamond Stakes.

Miracles Of Life started her autumn preparation with a fair sixth place finish in the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) at Flemington on March 1 and was only narrowly denied her first win as a three-year-old in the Listed Manihi Classic (1050m) at Morphettville on March 29.

Trainer Daniel Clarken told Racing Ahead this morning that Miracles Of Life had taken plenty of benefit out of her Manihi Classic run and was delighted with her performance in the Listed event.

“Barbie is terrific,” Clarken said.

“She got through her run the other day and she is absolutely fantastic; I couldn’t be happy with her.

“She had to do a bit of work early, the gate didn’t help us, but when she burst clear it was nice to see her back to herself.

“She ran terrific the other day.”

Miracles Of Life will jump from barrier nine in the Redelva Stakes on Saturday and Clarken admits that his star galloper may need a bit of luck from the wide gate, but said that he will be leaving the riding instruction up to regular jockey Lauren Stojakovic.

“It is probably going to make it a little bit tricky,” Stojakovic said.

“It is probably going to unfold the same way that it did the fortnight before, but there is still a bit of speed in the race.

“We will just leave it Lauren and the horse; once Barbie makes up her mind that she wants to get going there is no turning back.

“They will work it out.”

The Group 1 Robert Sangster Classic (1200m) at Morphettville on April 26 is the major autumn goal for Miracles Of Life and Clarken is hopeful that the daughter of Not A Single Doubt will be primed for the $400,000 race after running in the Redelva Stakes this weekend.

“She certainly benefitted from her last start and she will benefit again,” Clarken said.

“Leading into the 1200 she should be cherry ripe for the Sangster.”

Miracles Of Life ($3.20) is currently on the second line of 2014 Redelva Stakes betting markets; with Anthony Freedman-trained Minaj a narrow favourite at a quote of $3.
