Pint sized Miracles Of Life returned to the scene of her greatest victory to share the spoils with Bel Sprinter after the pair dead heated for first in the Group 2 $200,000 Perri Cutten Caulfield Sprint (1100m) at Caulfield today.

Miracles Of Life was the talk of the racetrack as a two year old when she took out the 2013 Group 1 $1m Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at this track for trainer Daniel Clarken and little known South Australian jockey Lauren Stojakovic.

The speedy Miracles Of Life was purchased by clients of Peter And Paul Snowden earlier in the year and the pony sized speedster was able to give her new owners, Stonestreet Stables LLC, a quick return.

Winning rider Hugh Bowman had Miracles Of Life up on the pace from the start and let her skip to a clear lead when heads were turned for home and after looking likely to get the prize was joined right on the line by the fast finishing Bel Sprinter.

“She was very brave. She was out on her feet about a hundred to go but she refused to lie down, and that character that he showed as two year old really shown through today,” Peter Snowden said.

“Everything she does she just gives a hundred and ten percent and I thought if we could get her somewhere near right today she would do that.”

Snowden said that he had Miracles Of Life nearly near her top today and let her get over the run before picking out her next assignment, probably during Melbourne Cup week.

Trainer Jason Warren was very pleased with the effort of Bel Sprinter who was returning to the race track following throat surgery and will now head towards the Group 1 $1m Darley Classic (1200m) at Flemington on November 8.

Bel Sprinter won the 2013 Group 1 $350,000 Canterbury BMW Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill and on today’s performance the Bel Esprit seven year old showed that he will be competitive again at Group 1 level.

“It’s good just to see the horse hitting the line again,” Warren said.

“We were very confident coming here today on a form track with a nice barrier. The horse is flying. He just couldn’t get to the outside when he needed to Bennie, but he did what he had to and it was good effort.

“I have to take my hat off to the guys at Ballarat vet clinic. They have done an amazing job on this horse’s throat. You know he has had drastic throat surgery, tie back, and they have done a great job.”

“He will improve out of today. We will probably go three weeks and run in the Darley Classic.

The judge was unable to split Miracles Of Life ($7) and Bel Sprinter ($12) and in a blanket finish, the fast finishing Shamal Wind ($6) was only a nose away in third spot with the favourite Big Money ($5.50) a further half a length away in fourth.
