The current favourite in 2013 Melbourne Cup betting markets is Gai Waterhouse-trained Fiorente who has remained fairly steady at odds of $7.50 since he drew ideally in gate 5 at the barrier draw at Flemington on Saturday.

Luca Cumani-trained Mount Athos remains on the second line of betting at Melbourne Cup odds of $9.50, despite drawing barrier 22, while there has been plenty of support for Caulfield Cup runner-up Dandino who is now available at $12.

The Melbourne Cup market mover has been Irish stayer Simenon, who made his Australian debut with an impressive third place finish behind Sea Moon in the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes (2400m), who is now into odds of $16 after being available at almost $25 on Saturday afternoon.
