Trainer Doug Harrison has revealed that talented colt Tudor is set to have his next race start in the Group 3 Manfred Stakes (1300m) at Sandown on January 26.

Tudor was sent to the spelling paddock after he finished ninth behind Stratum Star in the Listed Crown Lager Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on October 18 and he made his return to racing with a tough second behind Fast Cash in the Gold Carat (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday night.
Harrison told RSN this morning that he was happy with the first-up effort of Tudor in the Gold Carat and he said that the Strategic colt will likely have the chance to turn-the-tables on Fast Cash when he steps up to Group level in the Manfred Stakes.
“It was a very good,” Harrison said of Tudor’s first-up effort.
“Unfortunately the other horse outside pulled pretty hard and that didn’t help, but Wendy’s horse is a very smart horse and there is no shame to get beaten by him.
“He ran a very good race behind us up at Bendigo in his very first start in a race and he ran a bottler at Moonee Valley in the Listed race.
“It was a good return and it was a pity we couldn’t quite get it.
“I think that he will benefit a lot, I wasn’t able to get a trial into him at all during that bit of a break and when they are coming in on those really hot days they really do feel it and he had a really good blow.
“They will probably clash again at Sandown.
“There is that Stakes race there over 1300 and I think that Fast Cash is targeted for that as well.”
Tudor made his racing debut with a second place finish behind Eloping in the BJC Members Celebration (900m) at Bendigo on December 22 before he made his black type racing debut with a fifth place finish in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) at Caulfield on January 25.
The three-year-old recorded his maiden race win in the Schweppes Handicap (1200m) at Bendigo and he finished eighth behind Rich Enuff in the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on August 23 before he returned to winning form at the same venue on September 26.
Tudor was far from disgraced when fourth behind Eloping in the Listed Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on October 15, but was clearly at the end of his preparation when ninth in the Crown Lager Stakes.
