One time favourite Malasun is out of the Blue Diamond and will be sent to the spelling paddock.

Trainer Mick Price informed stewards yesterday that his filly would not be running in the Group 1 $1m Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 25 after putting in a below par effort at Caulfield last Saturday.

Malasun was in line for the $1m Blue Diamond  bonus if she could win the Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Preview, Prelude and Blue Diamond Stakes but that was all gone when she could only manage sixth to  stablemate Samaready in the Group 3 $125,000 Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m).

Originally Price was going to send the Red Ransom filly straight into the Blue Diamond without another run but she pulled up so well that he decided to chase the $1m bonus on offer by the Melbourne Racing Club.

“She was a little green when she raced in the Preview and with four weeks and two days between the Preview and Blue Diamond I just thought it might be too long,” Price said before the Blue Diamond prelude.

Jockey Damien Oliver reported to stewards after the race that in his opinion Malasun had reached the end of her preparation and Price agreed and sent his filly straight to the paddock.

But Price wasn’t left empty handed with his other filly Samaready producing such a dominating victory in the Prelude that she was immediately installed as the new Blue Diamond favourite, replacing her stablemate Malasun.

Jockey Craig Newitt was very impressed with Samaready’s win, especially the way that she powered to the line after having to travel three wide for the majority of the race.

“She was three deep out on a limb and toed up to them and then went away very easily,” Newitt said after the Blue Diamond Prelude.

“All she wants to do this preparation is relax and travel and come Blue Diamond day she’ll be one hundred and ten percent.”

Samaready is now $2.40 clear favourite for the Blue Diamond, way ahead of Gai Waterhouse’s No Looking Back ($8) and the Tony McEvoy trained Jimando at $9 with The Travelling Man.

Undeniably imagine that which you stated. Your favourite reason appeared to be on the internet the easiest thing to keep
in mind of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people consider issues that they plainly
do not recognise about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest and also outlined out the entire thing with no need side effect ,
people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get
    more. Thanks
