Makybe Diva’s Sister Passed In At Sales

Just under three-quarters of a million wasn’t enough to snare the three-quarter sister to the great Maykbe Diva at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

Bidding was opened at $300,000 and skyrocketed quickly up to half a million dollars.

From that point it slowed however still clawed its way up to $725,000.

It wasn’t enough for the daughter of Redoute’s Choice though and she was passed in just one bid shy of the $750,000 reserve price.

This is the eighth foal to come from Tugela, which has produced three stakes winners in Maybe Diva, Musket, Valkyrie Diva and the stakes placed Shadowofexcellence.

A fourth stakes winner might not be too far away either when Shadowofexcellence run in the Group 1 AJC Australian Derby this Saturday at Royal Randwick.

While Maybe Divas sister didn’t sell, the second foal from Valkyrie Diva was picked up by Kiwi trainer Graeme Rogerson for $310,000.

Rogerson was the only bidder for the bay colt, also by Redoute’s Choice.
