Hijack Hussy recorded a maiden black type win when she stormed home late to win the Listed Lexus Hybrid Plate (1400m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day, but she has been unable to return to winning form in her two subsequent race starts.

The Hussonet filly went into the Listed Mode Plate (1200m) at Doomben on December 6 as a clear favourite, but she was unable to muster any early speed and gave the leaders up to a ten length start before she flashed home to finish a credible third.

She was once again well supported by punters in the lead-up to the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate (1300m) at the Gold Coast on December 27, but she was once again settled at the tail of the field by jockey Tim Bell and worked home strongly down the extreme outside of the field but was unable to catch Mywayorthehighway.

Hijack Hussy was one of the big winners of the 2015 Magic Millions Guineas barrier draw that was held at Surfers Paradise yesterday when she drew barrier six and Gollan told Sky Racing HQ that he believes the inside gate will help the three-year-old settle closer to the speed in the early stages of the race.

“It is good to draw barrier six, I really couldn’t have wished for a better draw with her,” Gollan said.

“I wouldn’t have liked to draw the inside and I was getting sick of drawing the outside.

“It is good to draw a good barrier and the track doesn’t really affect me, rain affected or not, and I just hope that she can jump and be a little bit closer if she can.

“That will go a long way to helping her chances in the end.

“We gave her a week out of the stable on the water walker last week just to keep her that little bit fresher after the hard run down here at the Gold Coast and she was nice and sharp yesterday morning.

“I am very confident after a long prep that we have got her down here in good condition and fresh enough in the legs to be able to take advantage of that inside draw.”

Hijack Hussy is currently available at 2015 Magic Millions Guineas odds of $3.50 and she is currently a clear favourite from Testashadow ($7), Aerobar ($8) and Echo Gal ($8.50) with Ladbrokes Australia.
