The Lindsay Park Team has huge numbers among the nominations for the 2017 Group 1 $1m Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes (1200m) at The Valley on October 27.

The David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig Team have nominated eleven sprinters among the sixty entries for the $1 million weight for age sprint on the eve of the running of the Group 1 $3m Ladbrokes Cox Plate (2040m).

Group 1 winners Redkirk Warrior, Sheidel and Vega Magic headline the Lindsay Park Team which also includes the well performed Keen Array, Grande Rosso and Miss Gunpowder.

Victoria’s leading trainer Darren Weir has nominated five sprinters for the Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes with Japanese import Brave Smash headlining the stable’s entries which also includes the well performed Hellbent and Voodoo Lad.

Champion sprinter Chautauqua is the only Manikato Stakes entry from the Team Hawkes stable and will be looking for his second win in the $1 million sprint after claiming the winning trophy in 2015.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable is also low on numbers with only three horses nominated for the Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes, English, Debonairly and Invincible Star.

English, along with Chautauqua, are two of the main contenders that have a slot in the $10m The Everest (1200m) at Randwick on October 14.

James Cummings has nominated Stradbroke Handicap winner Impending as well as three year olds Kementari and Viridine while the Peter and Paul Snowden Trainng Team have entered Group 1 winners Redzel and Russian Revolution.

First acceptances for the Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes will close at 12 noon on Tuesday, 10 October 2017.
