Kulgrinda On Her Way To Superstar Status

Kulgrinda claimed her fourth victory in six starts in the Listed Printhouse Graphics Stakes at Moonee Valley

Peter Moody remains confident that his four-year-old mare Kulgrinda will be the stable’s next superstar after she won the Listed Printhouse Graphics Stakes at Moonee Valley on the weekend.

The Exceed And Excel won by two and a half lengths to claim her fourth victory in just six starts.

“We just had to wait for her to mature up,” Moody said.

“But for probably a little bit of impatience where I pushed on too far into her first preparation she would have been undefeated.”

Moody expects to race Kulgrinda in some of the best feature races of the upcoming spring racing carnival.

“She is a Group One horse and you’ve got to go to Group one races,” Moody said.

“She is on the road to a very good spring.”

Jockey Luke Nolen rode Kulgrinda to her latest win.

“She is a superstar,” Nolen said.

“In her two-year-old year she was probably the pick of ours but with her (lack of) maturity she never got there.

“It is very early spring and you can’t get carried away but she was impressive in Adelaide and I thought she was equally impressive (on Saturday).”
