Former Kiwi jockey Jason Collett had no hesitation is sticking to the inside in the straight and La Belle Diosa ($9) was able to collar the leader Global Glamour ($2.35 favourite) at the 250m mark to score a comfortable win in the end.

Runner up Omei Sword ($9.50) ran on strongly from the back to claim Global Glamour who held on for third.

Rangiora trainers Mandy and Matt Brown were making their first trip to Sydney and were quick to pick up their travelling expenses with their classy filly who was coming off a last start win in the Group 1 NZ$300,000 1000 Guineas at Riccarton on November 12.

Matt Brown said the main Sydney Autumn Carnival target for La Bella Diosa was the Group 1 $1m James Boag’s Premium Australian Oaks (2400m) at Randwick on April 8 and it was great to pick up a win along the way.

“She has always shown a lot. She win the 1000 Guineas pretty well and the owners wanted to have a bit of a go at the Australian Oaks and we came over early and to get a result like that is great,” Brown said.
