Kirramosa started her 2015 Spring Racing Carnival campaign with a fifth place finish behind Peeping in the Fairfield RSL Club Handicap (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on August 15 and she produced promising performances in both the Group 2 Tramway Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on September 5 and the Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m) at the same venue on September 19.

The Alamosa mare received a degree of betting support in the lead-up to the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Royal Randwick on October 3, but she did not have any luck in running and she finished tenth behind subsequent Cox Plate winner Winx.

Kirramosa was ruled out of the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) after she pulled up with soreness in her back following the Epsom Handicap, but Sargent told RSN that she has now bounced back is ready to return to winning form in the 2015 Bendigo Cup.

“She didn’t come out of the race too well because they had a tussle on the turn,” Sargent said.

“When she came around Winx, she tried to get out and knocked herself around a bit, which sort of put us behind because we were going for the Caulfield Cup as well.

“She is back to where she was, she is working extra well now and I think that this is a nice race for her.

“People are saying that we are jumping from a mile to 2400, but she has had three miles at Randwick and they are like 2000 metre races around there.

“She is as fit and hard as we can get her.”

Team Hawkes-trained Leebaz is currently on the second line of betting at Bendigo Cup odds of $5, but the best-backed runner with Ladbrokes has been Gai Waterhouse-trained The Offer, who has been $8 into $6.50.

Maygrove finished fourth in both the Group 3 The Bart Cummings (2520m) at Flemington on October 4 and the Group 3 Geelong Cup (2400m) on October 21 and he is available at a quote of $6, while Lloyd Williams-owned Divan is the only other horse that is priced at single figure Bendigo Cup odds.

There has been plenty of support in Bendigo Cup betting for Tooleybuc Kid ($18 into $12), while Kareeming ($12 out to $13), Araldo Junior ($10 out to $12), Wexford Town ($9.50) out to $12), Savannah Moon ($41 out to $81) and Thunder Set ($101 out to $151) have all been on the drift.

You can score the best Bendigo Cup odds with Ladbrokes, who are offering Best Tote or Starting Price +20% for every single horse in the field.
