Joe Pride is not concerned over Karuta Queen’s presence in the www.tab.com.au Handicap at Warwick Farm this Saturday.

The trainer believes that his two mares, La Remlap and Phenomenal Lass, will be hard to beat in the race.

Pride is confident that Karuta Queen will find the wet track too much to handle when first-up in tomorrow’s race.

“A filly like Karuta Queen, you wouldn’t want to meet her down the track but where she’s first-up and we’re race fit on a wet track, it might be our opportunity to beat her,” Pride said.

Karuta Queen won the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic in 2011 and has since gone on to prove herself on the national scale, winning races against other top quality fillies.

The Not A Single Doubt filly won the Listed Heritage Stakes and the Group 3 Australia Stakes last spring racing carnival, as well as placing second to Black Caviar in the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes.

Karuta Queen was a $30,000 purchase from the 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and has since won six of her 12 race starts and accrued close to $1.7 million in prize money.

Pride believes La Remlap will be perfectly suited to Warwick Farm’s wet track in tomorrow’s handicap race.

“She will probably get a run just off Karuta Queen and Social Rank and with 51 on her back we give her a good chance,” Pride said.

La Remlap has won three of her 12 race starts and has earned more than $100,000 in prize money.

Phenomenal Lass will be looking to build on her first-up performance, where she finished last in the Listed Canterbury Classic behind Unanimously.

“She was disappointing first-up but the race was run at a thousand miles an hour and she just got carved up,” he said.

The stablemates will face off against Karuta Queen and two other runners in the www.tab.com.au Handicap’s five horse field.
