Jimmy Choux Confirmed As Hong Kong Mile Contender

New Zealand galloper Jimmy Choux will head to Hong Kong next month after his fourth place finish in the $1 million Emirates Stakes on Saturday.

Jimmy Choux is expected take part in the international meeting at Sha Tin on December 11, where he will contest the $HK20 million Hong Kong Mile.

Trainer John Bary revealed the four-year-old would have no more runs between now and his Hong Kong debut.

“He’s out in a paddock where he’s based outside Melbourne. He’ll tick over until his flight to Hong Kong on November 25,” Bary said.

“That’s two days after the Hong Kong invitations have been confirmed but all the paperwork and inoculations have been done.”

Bary was impressed with Jimmy Choux’s fourth place effort in the Emirates Stakes.

“Once again it was another superb ride by Jonathan (Riddell) on Saturday, he gave him every chance,” Bary said.

“Now we’re all looking forward to what he can do against true international competition.”

Jimmy Choux has won 12 of his 23 career starts in Australia and New Zealand and has earned more than $800,000 in prize money.
