Jim Cassidy Ruled Out Of Wyong Cup Day

Jim Cassidy will not be available to ride during the Wyong Cup meeting tomorrow after succumbing to injury.

The top level Sydney rider sustained damage to his left hand yesterday and medical advice didn’t deliver good news.

Cassidy already had to forgo five mounts at Canterbury yesterday but will now miss Friday as well.

He had a tremendous program of rides lined up including the favourite Essence Of Success in the main event Wyong Cup.

He had four horses all up and the rider changes are as follows:

R3, #2. Lil and Grace will now be ridden by James McDonald
R6, #4. Sweetest Melody will now be ridden by Chris Munce
R7, #7. Essence of Success will now be ridden by Chris Munce
R8, #6. Last Day Friday will now be ridden by Glyn Schofield

Cassidy remains confident however that he’ll be fit to ride at Warwick Farm on Saturday where he has a program of six rides including the returning Melbourne Cup runner-up Maluckyday in the Chelmsford Stakes.

Prior to any return though he will have to submit to an examination from the ATC’s club doctor and be passed fit to ride.
