I’ve Got The Looks Ready To Win Silk Stocking

I’ve Got The Looks has been extremely well-backed in 2015 Silk Stocking betting markets and co-trainer Paul Snowden believes that the talented mare is extremely well-placed in the Listed event at the Gold Coast this afternoon.

I’ve Got The Looks has not been seen at the races since she finished 11th behind Avoid Lightning in the Group 3 City Tattersalls Club Nivison (1200m) at Royal Randwick on October 18 last year, but that has not stopped punters throwing their support behind the Choisir mare and she has been backed into Silk Stocking odds of $2.50 to make a winning return to racing.

The five-year-old had form around the likes of Terravista and Famous Seamus during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival and Snowden told Sky Racing HQ that the Silk Stocking is the easiest race I’ve Got The Looks has contested in quite a while.

“It seems to be a really suitable race for her on paper,” Snowden said.

“She gets in really well at the weights, she is probably dropping back a couple of class drops in this race today and she has certainly met harder fields in the past and held her own.

“She has drawn a good gate and she gets every chance.”

I’ve Got The Looks was set to return to racing during the 2015 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival, but she pulled up with a hoof issues after she scored a smart win in a barrier trial over 900 metres at Rosehill Gardens on March 17 and Team Snowden were forced to push back her return date.

Snowden confirmed that I’ve Got The Looks bounced back from the minor issue very quickly and he said she showed she was ready to contest the Silk Stocking after she won another barrier trial at Royal Randwick on April 13.

“She is ready to go,” Snowden said.

“We trialed during the Slipper Carnival and she trialed really well, but we got her home and she couldn’t walk the next day.

“She had a foot abscess and she missed a few days of work, so we had to wait and get her right again.

“She trialed well about ten to 12 days ago at Randwick and she is in very good order.”

I’ve Got The Looks is currently a clear favourite in the 2015 Silk Stocking betting market with Ladbrokes from Espiritu ($6), Diamond Fund ($6.50) and Estonian Princess ($7).
