It’s A Dundeel was not asked to extend in the jump out over 900 metres, but worked home strongly to record a comfortable victory over stablemate Atlante.

Baker told Sky Racing HQ this morning that he was very happy with the performance of both It’s A Dundeel and Atlante and confirmed that they will depart from New Zealand for Sydney this weekend.

“He went very well,” Baker said.

“It was just a jump out on the course proper up against the rail from the 950.

“It was a nice easy jump out, which he won by a about half a length from Atlante, who is one of the other horses coming over.

“It was just what we wanted and he pulled up perfectly.

“He flies out on Sunday.”

It’s A Dundeel will take part in a barrier trial at Rosehill Gardens on February 18 before kicking off his autumn campaign in the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm on March 8.

The son of High Chaparral will step back-up to 2000 metres in the  Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 22 and will contest the Group 1 The BMW (2400m) at Rosehill Gardens on April before his major 2014 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival target – the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Royal Randwick on April 19.

It’s A Dundeel has recorded four of his five Group 1 victories in Sydney and was the undisputed star performer of the 2013 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

He recorded his maiden win at Group 1 level in the 2012 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) at Royal Randwick on October 6 and became the first horse since Octagonal to complete the three-year-old Triple Crown last year; winning the Royal Randwick Guineas (1600m) at Warwick Farm on March 16, the Rosehill Guineas (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 30 and the Australian Derby (2400m) at Royal Randwick on April 13.

It’s A Dundeel will be joined on the flight to Australia by stablemates Atlante, who will contest the Royal Randwick Guineas on March 15, and Show The World who has been set for the Australian Derby at Royal Randwick on April 12.
