Star Kiwi galloper It’s A Dundeel will be back in Murray Baker’s Cambridge stables next week to prepare for the Sydney Autumn Carnival racing in the Arrowfield Stud’s gold and black diamonds for the first time.

Arrowfield Stud, headed by John Messara, bought into It’s A Dundeel in September, securing thirty per cent and took up the option to acquire more shares to become the major stakeholder in the five times Group 1 winner who will begin stud duties at the famous stud in the Spring.

It’s A Dundeel has been spelling since finishing eighth to Shamus Award in the Group 1 $3m Sportingbet Cox Plate (2040m) on October 26  after an interrupted lead up to the famous weight for age race at Moonee Valley.

But the prominent Kiwi trainer has reported that It’s A Dundeel has thrived at his time away from the track and is ready to begin his Autumn campaign that will culminated in running the Group 1 $4m Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April 19.

“He’s been spelling at Henley Park and I went out and saw him on Tuesday,” Baker told The Informant.

“He looks great. He’s had a good break and he’s ready do something.”

“He won’t race here (New Zealand) before he goes over.”

“The plan is to kick off in the Chipping Norton Stakes at Warwick Farm on March 8. He’ll then have two more runs before the Queen Elizabeth.”

The Cambridge trainer has mapped out a weight for age program  with It‘s A Dundeel to kick off his Autumn Carnival campaign in the Group 1 $500,000 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm on March 8 followed by the Group 1 $500,000 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on March 22.

The Group 1 $2.25m The BMW (2400m) at Rosehill on April 5 is next on the agenda before It’s A Dundeel rounds off the Carnival in the rich Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
