Gold Coast trainer Bryan Guy has Noisy Ocean on target to go one better this year in the Listed $175,000 Channel 7 Ipswich Cup (2150m) at Ipswich on Saturday.

Noisy Ocean ran second to the Tony Gollan trained Brave Ali in the 2014 Ipswich Cup and the six year old has hit form at the right time with two wins from his last three starts.
The Shovhog gelding was having his second run from a break when he dead heated with Ipswich Cup fancy Darci Be Good over 1400m in an Open Handicap at the Sunshine Coast on May 3 on a heavy track.
His next run produced a sixth to Landlocked over 1800m in a BenchMark 95 Handicap at the Sunshine Coast again on May 16 but then Guy was able to head back to the winner’s stall with Noisy Ocean when he turned the tables on Landlocked at the Gold Coast in an 1800m Handicap a fortnight ago.
“The Cup is the race we set him for and I couldn’t be happier with the lead-in,” Guy said.
“He beat the in-form Landlocked at the Gold Coast at his last start and three runs back he dead heated with Darci Be Good.”
“What I like is the way he has been hitting the line this campaign.”
Noisy Ocean is racing in better form now than he was at the same time last year which is also boosting the confidence of the popular Gold Coast trainer who won the Ipswich Cup with outsider Anagold in 2013.
Internationally renowned South African jockey Robbie Fradd has been aboard Noisy Ocean at his last three starts and gets the mount again in the Ipswich Cup.
Another good performance in the Ipswich Cup will see Guy send Noisy Ocean back to Grafton again for the Listed $150,000 Grafton Cup (2350m) at Grafton on July 9 after he ran third behind Queenstown and Seccessio last year.
Noisy Ocean is rated at the good odds of $15 for the Ipswich Cup with Ladbrokes.com.au who are struggling to find a clear cut favourite.
The Chris Waller trained Danchai and South Australian trained Baligari currently share the top spot at $5 just ahead of Darci Be Good at $5.50 and Robert Heathcote’s Volkhere at $6.
