The Snitzel colt was a scratching from the Group 1 $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on March 18 because of a bruised hoof but lived up to the stable’s expectation with a dominant win in the Inglis Sires’.
The Lindsay Park Team of David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig has nominated last start winner Eshtiraak but a decision on whether he goes to Sydney for the Champagne Stakes will be determined on how he gallops during the week.
“He looks like a miler so if he works well he’ll run,” David Hayes told the Herald Sun.
Eshtiraak made it four wins from six race starts with a last start win in the $100,000 Martin Collins Fibretrack Sires (1500m) at Mornington on March 25.
