Heart Of Dreams is out of the Spring Carnival after suffering a knee injury

Heart Of Dreams will play no further role in the 2011 spring carnival after suffering a knee injury in his run at Caulfield on the weekend.

The gelding was presented with a run but seemed to struggle across the final furlong or so in the Underwood Stakes to finish in sixth position.

Earlier today trained Mick Price informed stewards that the dual Group 1 winner would be out for the rest of the carnival as he undergoes treatment and has a lengthened spell.

Heart Old Dreams was rated as a real chance in the 2011 Cox Plate which shaped as his main goal at Moonee Valley on October 22nd.

The Underwood Stakes has proved to be a real boom or bust race for the six year old after his victory in the event back in 2009.

Last year he returned to defend his title but once again pulled up lame and was forced out of the 2010 spring carnival.
