Newcastle trained mare In Her Time will have to pass a vet’s check when she arrives on course before being cleared to run in the Group 2 $200,000 China Horse Club Breeders Classic (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Trainer Ben Smith reported to Racing New South Wales Stewards that In Her Time had suffered a bruised near fore foot following her win in a 1200m Fillies and Mares BenchMark 78 Handicap at Canterbury on December 31.
Smith told stewards that the four year old mare had responded to treatment and an application to race her in Heart Bar Plates in front has been approved.
Smith also reported to Stewards that In Her Time had pulled up with no problems following a barrier trial win over 900m at Newcastle and the mare pleased the trainer in a track gallop this morning.
As well as Smith providing a veterinary certificate, stewards have also ordered that In Her Time must undergo another check when she arrives on course on Saturday prior to running in the Breeders Classic.
“Mr Smith will provide a veterinary clearance. IN HER TIME will be inspected by Racing NSW veterinarians upon arrival on course,” a statement read on the Racing New South Wales website.
In Her Time is a winner of her last two starts at Canterbury in restricted grade and prior to her win on December 31 was also in the winner’s stall on November 25 after taking out a BenchMark 72 Handicap.
Apprentice Andrew Adkins will stick with In Her Time after steering her to an all the way win last start and the mare should be able to take full advantage of barrier four in the nine horse Breeders Classic field.
The Breeders Classic is set to develop into a hotly contested betting affair at Ladbrokes.com.au with six of the nine runners marked under $10 with In Her Time currently listed as a $7 chance.
The Kris Lees trained Danish Twist heads the market order at $3.70 ahead of Bjorn Baker’s Egyptian Symbol at $4.60 and Team Snowden’s Flippant at $5.
Joe Pride will saddle up $6 chance I Am Zelady while the Chris Waller trained French Emotion is listed at $8.
