In Her Time was able to give young Newcastle trainer Ben Smith his first Stakes winner when the four year old mare fought out a tough finish to win the Group 2 $200,000 China Horse Club Breeders Classic (1200m) at Randwick on February 4.

Josh Parr takes over from apprentice Andrew Adkins and a repeat performance will see her hard to beat again in the Millie Fox Stakes.

Adkins said that In Her Time was strong to the line in the Breeders Classic after he gave the mare plenty of galloping room throughout the race.

“It was going to be a tight finish but she is very very tough and she showed that,” Adkins said after the win.

“Nothing actually got in front of me and she was just too strong.

“She just kept fighting and it was a great win.”

Sydney’s premiership trainer Chris Waller will saddle up two runners in the Millie Fox Stakes in Tsaritsa and French Emotion who finished sixth and eighth to In Her Time in the Breeders Classic.

Tye Angland rides Tsaritsa who has drawn barrier eight while French Emotion will jump from gate four with Michael Walker in the saddle.

The John O’Shea trained Circular (barrier 7) will be taking on In Her Time again after finishing fifth in the Breeders Classic with Brenton Avdulla retaining the ride.

The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Artistry was also out of luck at the barrier draw, coming up with gate twelve with Kerrin McEvoy to ride.

Artistry will be stepping out for the first time since winning the Group 3 $200,000 The Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day.

Euro Angel has been installed the $6 favourite at Ladbrokes.com.au for the Millie Fox Stakes in an open betting race and she will jump from barrier three with Tommy Berry to ride.
