Ilovethiscity has been ruled out for the remainder of the spring due to a leg sprain

Trainer Grahame Begg has been dealt a cruel blow with talented four-year-old Ilovethiscitybeing ruled out for the remainder of the spring due to injury.

The Magic Albert entire sustained a leg sprain and will now go to the paddock for a lengthy spell.

Ilovethiscity was due to run in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap at Randwick on October 2 in what would have been his fourth run of the Sydney spring racing carnival.

The winner of the Group 1 Randwick Guineas last autumn, Ilovethiscity finished second by a neck to Stradbroke Handicap winner Sincero in the Group 1 George Main Stakes at Rosehill last start.

Ilovethiscity has won four of his 16 race starts and has accrued close to $900,000 in prize money during his lucrative racing career.

The horse was due to have his grand final of the spring in the $1 million Patinack Farm Classic, where he was set to go head-to-head with superstar mare Black Caviar on November 5 at Flemington.

Ilovethiscity is likely to return to racing for the 2012 autumn carnival in Sydney.
