Trainer Ron Quinton has revealed that promising gelding I Am Impressed is a chance of progressing to the 2015 Magic Millions Guineas at the Gold Coast on January 10 if he performs well in the De Bortoli Wines Handicap (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

I Am Impressed was given four barrier trial starts before he made his racing debut with a fourth place finish in the Quaddie Handicap (1200m) at Canterbury on April 30 and was sent to the spelling paddock after recording his maiden race win in TheRaces.com.au Maiden Plate (1250m) at the same venue on May 14.
Quinton told Racing Ahead that I Am Impressed performed well in two barrier trials at Royal Randwick in the past month and said that he is thrilled with the condition of the I Am Invincible gelding heading into the De Bortoli Wines Handicap.
“He is very good and he looks very well,” Quinton said.
“He has had two trials coming into this and for 1200 metres he is pretty close to the mark.
“When he won his maiden he put up a pretty good performance and he cut down a horse that he was giving a six or seven length start at the 200.
“He finished very strongly that day and he is a very nice horse.”
While I Am Impressed has only recorded one race win, Quinton said that he has always had a very high opinion of the three-year-old and believes that he has the ability to compete at the highest level of racing.
Quinton said that I Am Impressed will head to the $1 million Magic Millions Guineas if he runs well in the De Bortoli Wines Handicap this weekend and hopes that the three-year-old can be competitive during the 2015 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.
“He is actually eligible for Magic Millions as a three-year-old and all being well we might be heading that way,” Quinton said.
“He is a very laidback customer, he doesn’t sort of do much at home and he is a very relaxed fella.
“He goes to the races and the trials and he trials well.”
Quinton only has three runners at Rosehill Gardens tomorrow, but all three appear to be winning chances; with Let’s Make It Rain set to make his racing debut in the TAB.Com.Au Handicap (1100m) and veteran gelding Monton a genuine chance in the Listed Festival Stakes (1500m).
