Bowman has been missing from the Sydney racing scene for three months after he based himself in Melbourne during the 2015 Spring Carnival before heading overseas to ride successfully in Japan and Hong Kong.

The premiership winning jockey tweeted early today that was keen to get back into action at Randwick before the rich Autumn Carnivals in both Sydney and Melbourne get under way.

“I’m home & I can’t wait to get back to the routine of racing. Feeling very fresh,” Bowman wrote on twitter.

The Australian Turf Club was also happy to hear the news that their number one rider would be back in action at headquarters on Saturday and welcomed him back on twitter.

“Welcome back Hughie! Hugh Bowman back riding at Royal Randwick Sat after 3 months absence from Syd racing,” the Australian Turf Club tweeted.

As well as winning the Sydney jockey’s premiership with ninety-six wins, Bowman was also crowned the leading Group 1 rider for the 2014 – 2015 racing season with nine Group 1 wins for the year.

And Bowman began the 2015 – 2016 season in the same style as he finished the previous season with three Group 1 wins for trainer Chris Waller during the 2015 Melbourne Spring Carnival on Preferment in the $500,000 Yellowglen Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington, on Press Statement in the $1m BECK Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield and on Winx in the $3m Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley.

Bowman also combined with Winx to take out the Group 1 $1m The Star 150th Epsom (1600m) at Randwick before she headed to Melbourne to claim the weight for age championship.

The talented rider who acknowledges the crowd after a winning ride with his trademark ‘she’s apples’ salute, has picked up six rides on the nine event Randwick program on Saturday.

Hugh Bowman’s Randwick rides on Saturday:

Race 3: Selita (trainer Bjorn Baker), Race 4: Moral Victory (Tim Martin), Race 5: Tiger By The Tale (Danny Williams), Race 6: Barood (Peter and Paul Snowden), Race 8: Liberty’s Choice (Gai Waterhouse), Race 9: Another Cocktail (Chris Waller).
