Hot Danish will be the star of the Inglis Australian Weanling & Bloodstock Sale in June

Multiple Group 1 winner Hot Danish will be sold at the Inglis’ Australian Weanling & Bloodstock Sale in June.

The seven-year-old mare is due to be sold after she recovers from a leg injury that ended her fruitful career in racing last month.

The Nothin’ Leica Dane mare was cut down in the prime of her racing career after she developed an abscess in her in her near-side hind leg.

Trainer Les Brooks was devastated when he discovered what had happened to his star mare.

“It’s such a shame because before this happened she was flying and I thought she was back to her best,” he said.

Hot Danish’s managing part-owner, Tony Cutis, said that while he was saddened by seeing Hot Danish’s racing career come to an end, he was excited about her prospects as a broodmare.

“She has been an absolute marvel for us to own and has been a part of our lives for six years now,” Mr Curtis said.

“All 10 part owners will be sad to see her no longer racing for us but we will be looking forward to following her progeny when they hit the track.”

Mr Curtis believes that Hot Danish is likely to produce winning foals in the future.

“I’m sure if they have her determination to win they will be stars in their own right,” he said.
