Hokko Brave opened at odds of $21 when the Melbourne Cup field was released yesterday afternoon, but he drifted straight out to $26 after drawing barrier 20 and his odds have continued to lengthen this afternoon.

The Marvelous Sunday entire was only narrowly beaten by Gold Ship and Fame Game in the Group 1 Tenno Sho (3200m) at Kyoto on May 3, but he was far from impressive in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) and he could finish no better than tenth.

Gust Of Wind was far from disgraced in the Caulfield Cup and she is taking decent form into the Melbourne Cup, but she has still been another big drifter in 2015 Melbourne Cup betting markets and she is out to $34 after opening at $26 yesterday.

The Darci Brahma mare upset Winx to take out the Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m) at Royal Randwick on April 11 and she produced promising efforts in the Group 2 Warwick Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on August 22, the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on September 12 and the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington on October 4 before her tough fourth in the Caulfield Cup, but she has still been friendless in betting.

The other big drifter in the 2015 Melbourne Cup betting market with Ladbrokes is Quest For More, who has gone from $67 out to $101 since the Melbourne Cup final field was released.

Quest For More took out the Lidsey Silver Anniversary Handicap (2816m) at Goodwood on May 23 and the Northumberland Plate (3236m) at Newcastle on June 27 before he stamped himself as a genuine Melbourne Cup contender with a close second behind Big Orange in the Group 2 Goodwood Cup (3218m) on July 30.

The Teofilo gelding missed out on a start in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) at Caulfield on October 17 and he instead contested the Group 3 Geelong Cup (2400m), but he produced one of the worst performances of his racing career to date and could beat home only a single runner.

Other slight drifters in the 2015 Melbourne Cup betting market with Ladbrokes include Big Orange ($41 out to $51), Who Shot Thebarman ($17 out to $21), Grand Marshal ($26 out to $34) and Excess Knowledge ($21 out to $26).

Place any bet on the Melbourne Cup with Ladbrokes and you will have the chance to win a share of $70,000 worth of prizes that includes a2015 Ford Ranger 4×4, 2015 Aquamaster Open Boat or 2015 Honda CRF250L Motorbike!
