2018 Hobartville Stakes Results

Race 1 (12:45pm) – $60,000 Highway Handicap Results

Try A Lil Harder finished over the top of She Knows to win the Highway Handicap at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

She Knows was caught three wide right on the speed throughout the race, but still gave a nice kick at the top of the straight.

Try A Lil Harder always looked like the danger however and he showed a nice turn-of-foot in the concluding stages to record the biggest win of his career to date.

  • 1st – Try A Harder
  • 2nd – She Knows
  • 3rd – Where’s Pippa

Race 2 (1:25pm) – $100,000 #Slipperstyle Handicap Results

A peach of a ride from Blake Shinn helped Cellarman continue on his winning ways at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

Cellarman peeled off at the top of the straight and it took him a while to hit the front, but he was eventually able to wear down his rivals.

Alward had no luck in running and likely would have been able to win the race with a clear passage.

  • 1st – Cellarman
  • 2nd – Show A Star
  • 3rd – Alward

Race 3 (2:00pm) – $250,000 Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes Results

Sunlight upstaged Estijaab to win the 2018 Silver Slipper Stakes at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

Estijaab took up the running in the early stages of the Silver Slipper Stakes, but she was taken on by Neutrality.

That set-up the race for Sunlight and she was able to fight-off Estijaab in the final stages to confirm her status as 2018 Golden Slipper Stakes favourite.

  • 1st – Sunlight
  • 2nd – Estijaab
  • 3rd – Neutrality

Race 4 (2:35pm) – $100,000 Spark Of Life Handicap Results

I Am Excited savaged the line late to record a fast-finishing win in the 2018 Spark Of Life Handicap at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

I Am Excited caught the eye with her performance in a barrier trial a few weeks ago and she was able to transfer that form to raceday.

Trainer David Pfieffer was delighted to see I Am Excited make a winning return to the races and The Fireball is now on the agenda for the Snitzel filly.

  • 1st – I Am Excited
  • 2nd – Marsupial
  • 3rd – Za Zi Ban

Race 5 (3:10pm) – $200,000 Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes Results

Daysee Doom returned to the races with a narrow win in the 2018 Millie Fox Stakes at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

There were a host of winning chances in the final 100 metres as Daysee Doom, Girl Sunday, Foxplay and Prompt Response were spread right across the track.

Girl Sunday took a while to wear down, but Daysee Doom got her nose in front in the shadows of the post to record a stellar win.

  • 1st – Daysee Doom
  • 2nd – Girl Sunday
  • 3rd – Foxplay

Race 6 (3:45pm) – $125,000 Listed Parramatta Cup Results

More Energy finished over the top of Supply And Demand to record a very narrow win in the 2018 Parramatta Cup at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

Supply And Demand was ridden aggressively by Adam Hyeronimus in the early stages of the Parramatta Cup and he looked like he had the race won when he kicked clear at the top of the straight.

More Energy had been unlucky in his recent race starts and with a better ride he was able to nab Supply And Demand to claim the biggest win of his racing career to date.

  • 1st – More Energy
  • 2nd – Supply And Demand
  • 3rd – Liapari

Race 7 (4:25pm) – $400,000 Group 2 Hobartville Stakes Results

Kementari made it two wins on the trot with a classy win in the 2018 Hobartville Stakes at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

Glyn Schofield made the somewhat surprising decision to settle Kementari just behind the leader Trapeze Artist, but it proved to be a winning move.

Kementari fought-off Trapeze Artist and he had enough left in hand to hold-off a flying Pierata and D’Argento.

  • 1st – Kementari
  • 2nd – Pierata
  • 3rd – D’argento

Race 8 (5:05pm) – $100,000 Schweppes Handicap (1100m)

Race 9 (5:45pm) – $100,000 Triple M Marquee Handicap (1800m)
