Speedy colt Headwater has jumped to the top of the Order Of Entry and the Market Order for the Golden Slipper after his all the way in the Group 2 $250,000 Blackwoods Uvex Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill last Saturday.

Headwater’s win in the Silver Slipper makes him exempt from the ballot for the Group 1 $3.5m Tooheys New Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on March 21 and automatically made him the number one qualifier.
The Team Hawkes trained youngster’s win from the front took his earnings to $199,700 and also impressed bookmakers with Ladbrokes.com.au marking him as the new $4.80 favourite for the richest two year old race in the world.
The Gai Waterhouse trained Vancouver remains on the second line of betting at $6 with Melbourne filly Fontiton next at $8.
The Robert Smerdon trained Fontiton with $211,750 in eligible prizemoney in second in the order of entry with her stablemate Thurlow ($190,250) number three on the entry list.
Unbeaten Melbourne colt Of The Brave with $163,250 and Waterhouse’s unbeaten colt Vancouver with $150,800 are fourth and fifth on the list.
Vancouver was to go head to head with Headwater at Rosehill in last Saturday but a change of direction from Waterhouse saw the Medaglia D’Oro colt miss a run in the Sliver Slipper Stakes and barrier trial instead at Randwick today.
Vancouver will now head to the Group 2 $300,000 Todman Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on March 7 as his final lead up for the Golden Slipper two weeks later.
Headwater’s win in the Silver Slipper Stakes was his second from two starts after scoring on debut over 1000m at Moonee Valley on December 27.
