He Or She to be ridden quiet in Kingston Town Classic

The Lindsay Park trained He Or She will be ridden quiet in the Group 1 $1m Peters Investments-Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot in Perth on Saturday in a bid to break the stable’s run of Group 1 placings.

He Or She has been Group 1 placed on three occasions during the Melbourne Spring Carnival with a third to Palentino in the $500,000 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington, a second to Black Heart Bart in the $500,000 Underwood Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield and a third to Winx in in the $600,000 Ladbrokes Caulfield Stakes (2000m) at Caulfield.

He Or She has already had a run in Perth when ninth to Scales Of Justice in the Group 1 $1m James Boag’s Premium Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot on November 19 when ridden just off the pace.

Chris Parnham replaces Craig Williams on He Or She and co-trainer David Hayes’ instruction will be to have the six year old travelling in the second half of the field.

“He’ll go back this time and be ridden cold and he’ll run well,” Hayes told the Herald Sun.

“He’s a good, tough horse.”

The frustrating run of Group 1 placings for the Lindsay Park Team of David Hayes, Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig continued last Saturday when Sheidel was run down by Takedown when runner up in the $1m Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot.

Other Spring Carnival Group 1 placings were Harlow Gold in the $1m Crown Oaks (2500m) and Seaburge in the $2m Emirates Stakes (2000m) at Flemington over the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

But the Lindsay Park Team did have some Group 1 success over the Spring Carnival when He’s Our Rokkii took out the $500,000 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield on October 8.
