Co-trainer David Hayes believes that Miss Promiscuity is great value at her current 2015 Moir Stakes odds of $31 and he is confident that she is ready to run a big race in the Group 1 event at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Miss Promiscuity joined the Lindsay Park team at the start of her autumn campaign and she took out the Mitsubishi Superscreen Handicap (1100m) at Caulfield on April 18 and she was placed in the Group 3 Proud Miss Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on May 16 before she recorded a dominant win in the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on July 4.

The Magnus mare returned to the races with a credible third behind Bounding and Rich Enuff in the Group 3 Theshark.com.au Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on August 29, but Hayes is confident that she can improve on that run and is more than a knockout chance in the Moir Stakes.

“She is very fit and hard,” Hayes said.

“She wasn’t suited by the wet track last start, but I think that she is well over the odds at 31 to 1.”

Miss Promiscuity is joined in the 2015 Moir Stakes field by Sterling City, who has drifted from $41 out to $81 since the betting market was released yesterday.

Sterling City stamped himself as one of the best sprinters in the world when he took out the Group 1 Golden Shaheen (1200m) at Meydan in March of last year, but he has been unable to replicate that form since.

The Nadeem gelding was far from disgraced when he made his Australian racing debut with a ninth place finish in the Group 2 Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m) at Flemington on September 12 and Hayes is confident that the seven-year-old took plenty of benefit out of the run ahead of the Moir Stakes this weekend.

“He was average first-up, but I think that he has trained on,” Hayes said.

“He was a bit ring-rusty because he hadn’t run for a long time.

“The tempo of this will suit him.”

Petits Filous is currently available at 2015 Moir Stakes odds of $2.20 with Ladbrokes and he is a dominant favourite from Robert Smerdon-trained Fontiton ($4.60), veteran sprinter Buffering ($7.50) and Joe Pride-trained Ball Of Muscle ($9).

Lindsay Park has not won the Moir Stakes since David’s father Colin Hayes took out the race with Special in 1986 and Scarlet Bisque in 1988.
