He’s Our Rokkii has made quick progress throughout the Melbourne Spring Carnival and three runs after winning his Maiden at Benalla on September 15, just missed a place when fourth to Mahuta in the Group 3 $200,000 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on October 31.

Hayes has a very big opinion of the Roc De Cambes three year old and rates him as the best from the stable for the weekend.

“I really like him. I think he is a class horse on the way up,” Hayes said.

“A huge run against the bias at Flemington. I like his chances.”

“It is always hard measuring up Perth form to Melbourne form.”

“I think he is a very good up and coming young horse.”

Damian Lane will be wanting plenty of luck in the early and middle stages after the gelding drew barrier twelve in the sixteen horse field.

Lane has ridden He’s Our Rokkii in all four Spring rides and was keen to follow him to Perth for the W.A. Guineas.

Lane will also be aboard the Hayes and Tom Dabernig trained Fast ’N’ Rocking in the Group 1 $1m Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot on Super Saturday.

Hayes is also giving Fast ‘N’ Rocking a strong chance in the Winterbottom Stakes and said his Melbourne Spring Carnival form warrants him to be one of the top fancies for Perth’s number one weight for age sprint after running fourth to Chautauqua in the Group 1 $1m Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on October 23.

“He should be one of the favourites in the race,” Hayes said.

“With clear running he could have run second in the Group 1 last start. He has been set for this. Good barrier, fingers crossed.”
