Golden Rose Stakes winner Hallowed Crown is the headline act in a small field to contest the Group 2 $175,000 Sydney City Toyota Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Hallowed Crown kept his unbeaten record intact when he overpowered his three year old rivals to win the Group 1 $1m De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on September 13.
That was the Bart and James Cummings trained colt’s fourth win from four starts with Hallowed Crown now set to chase another Group 1 victory when he heads to Melbourne after the Roman Consul to tackle the Group 1 $500,000 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on November 1.
“Hallowed Crown will head to the Group 2 Roman Consul and then the G1 Coolmore at Flemington,” James Cummings said.
Top Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman will again be aboard after the pair combined to win the the Golden Rose Stakes and will jump from gate two in the six horse horses field.
Time For War is resuming from a Winter spell and has drawn the outside of the field with Tye Angland to ride the two time Group 2 winner.
Trainer Gerald Ryan doesn’t consider it a one horse race and expects Time For War to race competitively following his impressive trial when second to stable star Rubick at Warwick Farm on September 30.
“I’m not surprised by that, and I believe Time For War was the most underrated two-year-old in NSW,’’ Ryan told The Daily Telegraph.
“He won two Group 2s, ran fourth in a Group 1, and I couldn’t believe he wasn’t nominated for two-year-old of the year.
“He has been working really well. He has been working with Rubick, but because it’s Rubick nobody has taken any notice.”
If Time For War runs up to Ryan’s expectations in the Roman Consul Stakes he too will head to Melbourne for the Coolmore Stud Stakes.
“He’ll run on Saturday and then in the Brian Crowley. If his form warrants it, he’ll head to Melbourne for the Coolmore,” Ryan said.
Ryan will also saddle up Snitzel colt Klammer who hasn’t been out of a place from his six starts with a win and five third placings.
Josh Parr will stick with Klammer who has drawn the inside gate.
Sydney’s premier trainer Chris Waller has two runners with Brazen Beau drawing three with Joao Moreira to ride and Delectation to jump from five with Blake Shinn on board.
The other runner in the small field is Nostradamus (barrier four) from the Team Hawkes stable with James McDonald taking over from Brett Prebble who rode the Medaglia D’Oro colt into fifth placing in the Golden Rose Stakes.
