Traveston Girl has been included in the nominations for the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) and will be heading to Melbourne for a spring campaign, but trainer Tony Gollan is yet to decide where the promising filly will start her preparation.

Traveston Girl made her racing debut with a sixth place finish in the Quest Breakfast Creek Handicap (1030m) at Doomben on June 11 before stamping herself as a filly to watch with dominant wins in the Mount Franklin Sparkling Maiden (1200m) at Eagle Farm on June 25 and the Breakfast Creek Hotel Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on July 12.
Gollan told Racing Ahead this morning that Traveston Girl will make her first appearance in Melbourne at Flemington on September 13, but he is still tossing up whether the daughter of Flying Spur will in the Listed Henry Bucks Best Dressed Stakes (1400m) or the Listed Cap D’Antibes Stakes (1100m).
“She will go to the same meeting at Flemington in September and I am still tossing up whether I send her up the straight in the three-year-old fillies over 1100 or whether we give her a run here in Brisbane before we head down and run her in the Henry Bucks over 1400,” Gollan said.
“I’m still not 100 percent sure where I go with her.”
Another Gollan-trained galloper that will be joining Traveston Girl, as well as Looks Like The Cat, at the Flemington meeting on September 13 is veteran sprinter Temple Of Boom.
Temple Of Boom was one of the most consistent performers during the 2014 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival, taking out the Group 2 Victory Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on April 26 before finishing second in both the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) at Doomben on May 24 and the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 7 and Gollan is hoping that the eight-year-old can maintain that stellar form when he begins his spring campaign in the Group 3 Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m) at Flemington on September 13.
“I am really happy with him,” Gollan said.
“He is coming off a career best winter; even though he is getting older you wouldn’t know it.
“He will resume down there in the Bobbie Lewis.”
Temple Of Boom is chasing his first race win in Melbourne since he took out the Group 2 Gilgai Stakes (1200m) during the 2011 Spring Racing Carnival.
