Returning to competitive form over her two most recent starts, trainer Tony Gollan has revealed his plans for Tornado Miss to contest the Magic Millions Stayers Cup (1800m) following an appearance at Doomben Racecourse on Saturday.

Failing to beat a single runner home in a minor over 1200m first-up this time, Tornado Miss ran a close second to Magic In Motion in the Awesome Foursome Membership CL6 (1350m) on November 22nd before returning to the winner’s circle in the MBA Wealth Management BM85 (1650m) on December 5th.

Confident his runner is a “live chance” in Saturday’s Two Metro Wins Handicap (1615m), Gollan has been thrilled with the form displayed by the Snitzel mare over recent weeks and is believes the four-year-old is more than capable of a successful transition to the Magic Millions.

“She’ll run in the Two Minute Mile (Two Metro Wins Handicap) and then hopefully three weeks to the Magic Millions 1800m race,” Gollan told Racing Ahead.

“She won nicely on the Friday last time and it was a good second the start before so at the end of the day she’s in good form, she likes the mile around Doomben and handles all conditions.

“Her first start it was a complete trainer error – I took the blinkers off and she really didn’t like being back inside horses with no blinkers and ridden quieter.

“We put the blinkers back on for the second-up run and she was terrific in running second, covering ground and then obviously she was really good the other day.

“She’ll certainly race up on speed; whether she leads or is in the first three it’s irrelevant, but her racing pattern suits Doomben.”

“She’s obviously a live chance.”

Securing four wins and as many minor places from just 19 competitive starts so far, Tornado Miss found similarly good form over an autumn and winter preparation earlier this year; overcoming a 12th place finish in a 1200m minor event on March 22nd in finishing fourth in the Listed Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m), third place in the Group 2 The Roses (2000m) and credible eighth place finish in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) most notably.
