Temple Of Boom performed consistently without winning in the first three race starts of his 2014 Spring Racing Carnival campaign and he was sent to the spelling paddock after he suffered a minor injury when 12th in the Group 1 Darley Classic (1200m) at Flemington on November 8.

Gollan told Racing Ahead this morning that Temple Of Boom will be set for a winter preparation in Queensland and is likely to follow a similar path to the one he did earlier this year when he won the Group 2 Victory Stakes (1200m), finished fourth in the Group 1 BTC Cup (1200m) and second in both the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) and Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m).

“Temple Of Boom had a small twinge to the hamstring after the sprint in Melbourne and he has gone for a six week break,” Gollan said.

“I am really going to set him towards the winter, but it is too long to have him out all that time to the winter and we might we find a race in the autumn just to give him a hit out before the autumn.

“We will just see how he comes up.”

Alma’s Fury joined the Gollan stable before the start of the 2014 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival and he took out both the Listed Eye Liner Stakes (1350m) at Ipswich and the Listed Glasshouse Handicap (1400m) in Caloundra before he was sent to the spelling paddock.

The Refuse To Bend gelding may a slow start to his 2014 Spring Racing Carnival campaign, but he produced strong performances in the Listed Weekend Hussler Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on October 11 and second in the Group 3 Yellowglen Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on November 1 before he failed to fire in the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot on Saturday.

Gollan said that Alma’s Fury will go straight to the spelling paddock when he returns to Queensland and like Temple Of Boom will likely have one race start in the Sydney autumn before another tilt at the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival.

“Alma’s Fury will be back up this way in the spelling paddock by the end of the week and he is another horse that will be suited to the Winter Carnival here,” Gollan said.

“Again, it will be too long out if we just give him the one prep, so I will just work out what to do with him and whether there is something late in the autumn for him as well.”

Gollan is set to have another strong team heading towards the 2015 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival, but will be without star gelding Looks Like The Cat after he was sold to Hong Kong racing interests yesterday.
